Hi, my name is Capt. Scott Robson. I've lived here in Destin, Florida for 35 years and have fished out of Destin all but 5 of those years. Boy, have I seen countless changes to the area, however one thing has not changed, the fishing, it has always been great.
I am currently the president of the Destin Charter Boat Association. We work to protect our fishing rights and our fish stocks to assure there will be fish to be caught for generations to come. I work with county artificial reef building programs and have built my own artificial reefs to enhance the marine habitat and fishing. I enjoy fishing, meeting new people and seeing the same people return year after year. I take pride in keeping a really nice boat, and making sure people have an enjoyable and memorable day of Destin fishing on the PHOENIX.
The PHOENIX is a 48' custom built G & S. She's a 1984 fiberglass boat built here in Destin at G & S boat works. In 2002 I re-powered her with a pair of new turbo 450 Up Cummins diesel motors. She can now cruise at 15 to 18 knots and will top at 24 knots. She carries 400 gallons of diesel, 100 gallons of fresh water, 60 gallons of saltwater live well, her cockpit is 18' by 16' which allows plenty of room for a charter fishing party of 8 to12. She is coast guard approved for 18 people in shore (20 miles) and for 12 people on the oceans route (100 miles or more). She is equipped with A/C, heat, TV, DVD, microwave, shower and bathroom, bunks in U-berth, marlin Tower, and outriggers. She can also boast a very clean interior and exterior. The PHOENIX and I have entertained many seasoned and beginner fishermen and families catching numerous fish together in calm and rough weather.
